Disappearing Egg Shell Experiment

We homeschool Z for a few reasons, one of which is the schools in our area. One of the middle schools has a NO FAIL policy! So if you are in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade you don't actually have to do anything. They will pass you no matter what. So since Boyfriend's job is here and I am not working right now, we are thinking of possibly homeschooling O when she is old enough for school. I scour the internet for free resources. There are tons out there. You just have to weed through a lot to get the good stuff. I have started collecting things for when O will be old enough. I grab anything I think I might be able to use in the future. Here is a science experiment that could be fun for anyone! Remember when you were a kid and you made the chicken bone rubbery? Same thing only with a boiled egg.
Disappearing Egg Shell
What you will need:
1 hard boiled egg
1 jar with lid
white vinegar
Directions:
1. place the hard boiled egg into the jar
2. fill the jar with white vinegar
3. screw the lid on and let the egg sit for 3 days.
4. after 3 days the eggshell will be gone leaving a thin white membrane. The egg will look and feel like rubber!

I remember that from 50 years ago, but it is timeless.

thanks for stopping by my blog.

I didn't get spammed at first when I did not have word verification. Then I decided to turn it on. And for some reason, I turned it off and then I got spammed. It was only medicine sites, but I guess it could be porn or who knows what.
Most of us are used to having to do it at other sites, so no one should complain if you do turn it on.
Do you know how?

Fun! My daughter loves to eat hard-boiled eggs, so she would probably enjoy this one....
